In the early 1990s, I witnessed firsthand the deep-rooted issues of poverty, illiteracy, gender inequality, and poor health infrastructure that plagued our rural communities. What affected me the most was the lack of a platform where the voices of the marginalized could be heard, respected, and empowered.

That is when a small group of like-minded individuals and I came together to form Society for Urban and Rural Enlightenment (SURE) in 1994. Our goal was simple, yet powerful — to create awareness, empower communities, and support them in becoming self-reliant. Over the years, we have grown from a modest initiative to a recognized development organization working across Telangana.

Our focus has always been on people — their rights, their health, their education, and their livelihoods. From implementing health programs for HIV/AIDS and TB to supporting women through Swadhar Homes, from climate-proofing villages to skill training for youth — we have always walked hand-in-hand with the community.

SURE is not just an organization. It is a movement of trust, empathy, and action. I take this opportunity to thank our dedicated team, volunteers, government partners, and well-wishers who have stood with us through every challenge and success.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to our core values — service, inclusivity, sustainability, and empowerment. Together, we will continue to build resilient communities that can shape their own destinies with dignity.
